As any one who was at the inDIYpedent fest in napa this past weekend will tell you; it was an amazing meeting of several different realms of art and expression both audio and visual (even taste wise at a booth or two!) and here we have an article about the whole event in the Napa Valley Register and a video detailing IC during it’s second day brought to us by Verb-1.

For alternative artists, art can happen anywhere. A piece of garbage is transformed into a sculpture, a paper plate morphs into a canvas and common household paint is used to create a multi-part collaborative mural.
Even an empty warehouse that serves as a furniture storage facility during the week can turn into a working piece of art, as it did over the weekend during Wandering Rose’s InDIYdependent Culture Faire.
On Saturday and Sunday Napa artists teamed up with artisans from Solano and Sonoma counties to shake up the valley’s art scene with a festival dedicated to alternative art forms, music and culture.
“It’s kind of a mixture of what’s cool,” said Vallejo artist Sherwin Rosario, who along with his group Individual Collective, painted a five-part mural at the warehouse Sunday.

Hey all… here’s what’s going on in the month of November for IC

– MONDAY NOVEMBER 9TH – MINI-SHOW SESSION – 8PM-???? Individual Collective Gallery 419 Georgia St. Downtown Vallejo

Sherwin’s got a great plan for a show consisting of a huge call for artists and all the art being done on small wooden squares. Monday, we’ll be working on the early stages of prep work. Seems like a lot of IC will be there, and if you think you want in, come on down to the Gallery @8PM to help out. The show’s date is still TBA but it promises to be a good one!

–THURSDAY NOVEMBER 12TH – UNDERGROUND HIP-HOP SHOW– 7PM-10PM Individual Collective Gallery 419 Georgia St. Downtown Vallejo - $4 Donation, but no one turned away for lack of funds!

Our good pal Paulie Think has some fellow musicians coming through the bay area and they were kind enough to make the IC gallery as one of their stops while on tour! Come check out Ceschi Ramos, Bleubird, Cars N’ Trains & Paulie Think on Thursday November 12th from 7PM-10PM. $4 donation gets you in, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
